Joseph is a managing partner with Preszler Injury Lawyers. **

Joseph was born and raised in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia. He attended Queen's University for an honours degree in philosophy where he graduated on the Dean's list. He graduated from the University of Victoria Law School.

Joseph wants his clients to feel heard and understood before giving legal advice. He also wants them to feel powerful even when facing off against a large institution or insurance company; his cases have the full weight of the law firm behind them and he will never be outworked by an insurance defence lawyer.

Joseph believes in his clients and is focused on winning their cases rather than settlement. Preparing for victory at trial generally leads to larger settlements.

Joseph has been counsel in several cases that have shaped Canadian law. He was counsel at trial and on appeal in R. v. Nwanebu, 2014 BCCA 387, a case that made new law in Canada for a survivor of torture. He attended the Supreme Court of Canada with Dairn Shane on Saadati v. Moorhead, a case that removed discrimination in personal injury law for people with psychological injuries. Joseph has experience before judge alone and jury trials. He has received jury verdicts up to $1.4M and judge alone verdicts up to $2.87M. Joseph regularly settles significant personal injury claims outside of court.*

Joseph has written on access to justice for the legal column, Reasonable Doubt, lead seminars for lawyers and paralegals, provides pro-bono legal services to young people from foster care, and has appeared on various TV and radio programs discussing personal injury law or his active cases.

In his personal life, Joseph enjoys time with his wife and two sons.
